We been here 3 times and service is always consistent and fast. Staff is super friendly and even during their rush hour service is great! We order the carne Guisada, bean and cheese breakfast taco, potato and egg breakfast taco, sausage egg cheese breakfast taco, beef enchiladas, and el pastor taco... they are all good! Reminded us of Mexican authentic food. The rice is cooked to perfection and refried beans are velvety and smooth. Their breakfast tacos are bomb and so good! If you get their breakfast taco from the hours of 7am-11am you can get the special for 3 tacos for $6.99. Each taco with 2 items in it for example: potato and egg. Be sure to get the green Creamy salsa! It's sooooooo dang good! For the value and food this place is now out go to for all Mexican food! Reminded us of home. You get complimentary red salsa with chips. Do you recommend this place? YES! Come support this local restaurant! It's so good and hard to find good authentic Mexican food that is reasonable priced in Elgin! Best in town!
This is our first time here. It's located in Elgin, right on Hwy 290 towards Austin. It's a small restaurant and very clean. The salsa has a nice smoky taste to it. It's not too hot, but very flavorful. I had the torta with shredded chicken. It's one of the best I have ever had. The chicken was plentiful and versatile tasty. It came out piping hot on a slightly toasted bun. My partner had a cheese enchilada and a carne guisada taco. The taco was filled with lots of tender beef in a rich gravy. The cheese enchilada in red sauce was good too. We recognized one of the wait staff from one of our stomping grounds restaurant... La Casita. We spoke to her briefly as our Spanish and her English are limited.
Very good service I ordered 2 chorizo and egg with bean tacos in less than five minutes my food came out nice and hot with a good amount of servings sizes of chorizo and cheese. The chorizo was cooked to perfection. After I finished the waiter took my plates and was very kind. I went to pay and I chatted with the cashier who was friendly and I paid and left. The amount of food you get for how much you pay is a good bargain. The restaurant is lit up on the inside with music adding to it's authentic ambiance.
My boyfriend and I come here all the time, and the food is always amazing. Fresh ingredients, attentive waitresses, family vibe, amazing food. I never have dry food, it's just always perfect. Hope this place gets more customers, they deserve it!
